4 out of 5 stars One of my favorite kitchen appliances   November 24, 2008
I love my electric kettle! It's small enough to be convenient and easy to pick up, but large enough to heat up just enough water for a few cups of tea, or a nutritious ramen noodle-and-tea meal, which is my sick-day food. The sturdy cord is easily removable so that you can pour, it has a little removable filter in front of the spout (although I don't know why since you're only supposed to heat water), and it is easy and quiet to use. The only drawback I can think of is that when it's done boiling water, all it does is click, so you have to be listening for it close by or remember to check on it. I have no complaints on its speed, since I either plan ahead by boiling my water then doing other things in the kitchen, or I just leave the room for a few minutes. I've put more than the "max" level indicates and had no problem. Water gets exteremely hot, which is great for making strong tea. Just be careful of the lid and top of the handle, because it gets hot. Quality construction, works like a charm. This is a great and simple product!

4 out of 5 stars Lovely little unit   November 24, 2008
This is a very nice product for the cost. I wish it kept the water hot once it turns off, because I tend to forget. But it heats up very nicely, fairly quickly, about 10 minutes, and shuts itself off. That's a key feature over potting a kettle on the stove - did I mention I tend to forget? When the water cools down too much, I turn it on again, and reheat it. This pot has convinced me that when it dies I'll be ready to pay more to get all the features I need. You can only get a good couple of cups of tea out of this at a time.

5 out of 5 stars Electric Kettle Review   November 24, 2008
Excellent product. Works as advertised with no problems at all. We purchased it for a friend who heated water in a steam kettle on the stove but due to hearing problems he could not hear the steam whistle. Worried about him having an empty kettle on a hot burner we decided to get him the automatic electric kettle. We have used one for years and found them to be excellent and safe.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for my cuppa   November 23, 2008
I use this kettle at work. I make my big cuppa tea each morning and this kettle heats the water quickly and efficiently. It holds enough for my HUGE mug to make my tea and the amount left over gets reheated an hour later to make oatmeal. Perfect size. Perfect performance.

2 out of 5 stars Not good for boiling again fast   November 23, 2008
One big problem with this model - let's say you boil water once and you want to boil more water a little while later, the kettle won't let you turn it on. It's almost like the sensor setting is set to be too sensitive. Otherwise, water boils quickly
