4 out of 5 stars Worth the money   June 17, 2008

I used to use a waiter's corkscrew until it bent out of shape. When it did, I started looking around for a new one. A friend recommended this to me and I'm glad he did.
It makes pulling the cork very easy. I can't promise ease of use for everybody; but compared to the traditional waiter's version, this requires no effort at all.
All I do is twist. This twisting action pushes the metal down into the cork and also brings it back up with the cork in its grasp.
I can't speak to its durability over the long term. If it does die, I plan on buying another, because I enjoy using it that much.

4 out of 5 stars Finally a good corkscrew.   June 15, 2008

I searched all the reviews on the site. It seemed there was good an bad wit all of the corkscrews. I decided to give this one a try and I am glad I did. When I first opened it I thought that the plastic felt a little lightweight. After using it a few times I was no longer concerned. It works very well, and it is compact enough to not take up a lot of drawer space. I am veryglad I made this purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Don't hesitate BUY one now!   May 9, 2008
I STILL use almost daily the pocket model I purchased back in 1988 and it's had very heavy, hard use.

I was President of our wine society for 11 years and have opened hundreds of bottles with the old one and it's still going strong!
None-the-less, I just purchased a brand new and religated my old one as an emergency "back-up."

I've used, evaluated and auditioned just about every wine opener and gadget on the market, and believe me, the ScrewPull hands down is the premier choice!

You'll particularly appreciate it when opening very, rare very pricey older wines with fragile corks. The Screwpull gets the cork out without any crumbling of the cork; surgically precise every time.

There are exceptional value for the money and a "must have."
-Like the man said, If you can't successfully open a bottle of wine with a ScrewPull then you shouldn't be drinking wine!

5 out of 5 stars The best corkscrew there is   May 3, 2008
I learned about the Screwpull corkscrew from a winebook. And looks, in this case, are deceptive. It appears a bit "cheap", but there is no better corkscrew on the market. I was always fearful of opening wine bottles. But not anymore! The screwpull is so easy to use, and it works every time. I keep one in the house and one in the boat. I have also given this corkscrew as a gift many times, and the giftees have all loved it. Don't think twice. Get this corkscrew.

5 out of 5 stars A quality item   April 11, 2008
I just had to order a new pocket model screw pull after my old one broke....after 20 years of use! I kid you not. I used it for 20 straight years - easily an average of two bottles per week, so well over 2,000 bottles. Not bad for $15.
