5 out of 5 stars Good clean fun for the family.   August 1, 2008

I am a history buff, a Nicolas Cage fan, and an adventure lover. These are great movies that the entire family can enjoy. Historical inaccuracies aside, the bottom line is that they are just fun. A cleaner version of Indy Jones really. Don't get me wrong, nothing compares to Indy, but those movies with their adult jokes, flirting, and scary voodoo aren't really child appropriate, so it is cool to have similar movies we can all view together.

1 out of 5 stars Deja vu all over again   July 30, 2008

I rented this movie because I really enjoyed the first National Treasure - sort of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade meets The Da Vinci Code with a smattering of The Goonies thrown in for good measure.

But for the entire time while watching National Treasure 2, I had a "you've got to be kidding me" expression plastered on my face. The reason being that the plot structure for the second movie is EXACTLY the same as it was in the first movie. There was even a time during the denoument that I thought the DVD was flawed and it somehow switched over to the end of the first movie. It was that similar.

The only real difference between the two movies was the addition of the great (and still luscious) Helen Mirren as Ben's mother. Disney must have paid her a fortune for there is no other reason for her to have done this movie.

A real waste of time if you already saw the first movie.

5 out of 5 stars As Good As The First   July 27, 2008

National Treasure 2 has an exciting plot, amazing suspense and fantastic
action sequences. It held my interest throughout and was very believable.
I enjoyed it as much as National Treasure 1, I highly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Great movie   July 27, 2008

I do like this movie because I do like the first one. Watching this in high definition does make a huge difference. The storyline and action/scifi is better than the first. Can't wait for part three, if any.

5 out of 5 stars Good sequel   July 24, 2008

This movie is a great sequel to the first "National Treasure" movie. The characters were still their same treasure hunting loving selves and they added the mother of Ben, who couldn't have been better in her role. This movie was a continuation of the last story, but could also stand by itself as a whole new story.
