Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
This whimsical set of French-style paring knives puts some color and flair into your kitchen's prep area. Each of the four 7-1/2-inch knives in the set has a painted wooden handle in a different primary color--red, green, yellow, and blue. The stamped 3-1/2-inch stainless-steel blades have partial tangs that are held in place with two steel rivets. This set is great as an inexpensive housewarming gift or stocking stuffer. --Cristina Vaamonde

Product Description
These light weight french-inspired colored handle paring knives meld function with style with their small, easy to grip handles. Great for everyday use, they slice cheese, peel apples, pears and vegetables, and handle many other standard kitchen cutting chores. Each set comes with 5 pieces: Blue, Yellow, Green, Red and Brown. These are not recommended for the dishwasher; wash with warm soap and water to preserve the integrity of the wood handles.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Somewhat okay.   October 23, 2008
I was pleased to receive this set as the four piece set turned out to be a five piece set. However, after about a month the paint on one of the knives began to chip. I am very careful with my knives, having some knowledge of how to treat them as I collect knives as a hobby. I hand dry and sharpen all my knives personally. Never leaving them in the sink. I purchased this set because it seemed like a reasonable price and fit the bill as far as everyday needs in the kitchen. Otherwise, the blades are sharp and could look good if the paint didn't chip.

5 out of 5 stars Great all around use   May 30, 2008
These are great. Stays sharp and can be used not only for paring but for practically everything else. The handles are wood so don't dishwasher them as the heat contracts and expands the wood. Not sure what the issue with the other review on paint chip, they must be tossing these things around. Mine is holding up well 6 months now. I don't expect them to last forever but comparing other brands who sell individual ones for $8/each these are a fantastic price.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth it!!   January 16, 2004

I thought these were so cute. But, cute isn't what you want in a knife. I received them 20 days ago and they are all losing chips of paint and one has fallen apart. Live and learn from me...these are crap toys!
