5 out of 5 stars Feeding the imagination   November 17, 2008
My youngest daughter loves this magazine and I love that there is no advertising in it. The baby animals are very attractive to children and that keeps them interested in reading about them. I also receive Spider magazine for my older child and it does not contain advertising either.

4 out of 5 stars Two boys' review: Animals, stories and games in your mailbox   November 1, 2008

My young sons, ages 6 and 4, love to check the mailbox and get mail.

I purchased a couple magazine subscriptions for my sons at Christmas last year to supplement their library books and school materials.

The magazine says it is intended for children aged 3 to 7 years but don't be shy subscribing to this sooner rather than later. The magazine is mostly animal pictures and very colorful ones at that.

I personally like the Family Fun Guide which has given us a couple good ideas to stave off a rainy weekend. There's also links to their web site which is full of family activity tips.

Your Big Backyard is a nice change of pace from our sons' book collection of Dr. Suess, DK Readers and Berenstain Bears.

As a former pre-kindergarten teacher, I remember this magazine as a great teaching tool and a well used book in the library center...Now that I have a three year old granddaughter, Amelia is receiving this as a birthday gift. I feel this will open her eyes to learning about the world around her as well as encourage Amelia to seek and find information she needs to be a good citizen on Planet Earth.

4 out of 5 stars Your Big Back yard   August 17, 2008
My grandson was elated that something came in the mail for him. We read it immediately. He enjoyed the pictures, the jokes an when he comes back from his dad's we will make the little book and do some of the craft projects. I can't imagine any child not liking this publcation. I had former experience with this publication as my ddaughters [now 26&27] loved it when they were young. It was great to see that the magazine is still of high quality an so totally enjoyed by the young.
