Hot off the Metrokane lineup, the L-Press is a very snazzy manual juicer designed for the modern home. Rather than building on the 1950s look of its Mighty OJ juicer, Metrokane's designers created this one with a sleek, curved-L body made of hardened steel reinforced with die-cast aluminum. Like the Mighty OJ, the L-Press uses a rack-and-pinion gear system, but interlocked with it on this model is a lever handle that rotates in a 500-degree arc, impressively creating up to 1,000 pounds of leverage. As a result, limes, lemons, oranges, and grapefruits release every bit of juice with the least amount of effort.

Another nifty feature of the L-Press is the rubberized grip on both the lever and stabilizing arm, available in either a neutral gray or a dazzling traffic-cone orange. A 25-ounce stainless-steel pitcher, integral to the design, catches all the fresh-squeezed juice and features a pouring spout. This juicer rocks... February 18, 2008
It's true that if your fruit is large-ish, you'll wind up with some that is unjuiced. I bought this specifically for my mom, who can no longer use a juicer with a shorter handle, and she was easily able to make her own juice again. It's kind of large, so it won't really fit in smaller kitchens.

The base of this juicer is flimsy. When you press down on the handle the base flexes and the head backs away from the fruit resulting in minimal juice extracted. There are better products out there for cheaper.

citrus juicer November 5, 2007
The Metrokane juicer was nice for the first couple of days and then it sprang somehow and no longer works properly. I am very disappointed. Ce la Vie!

This is a citrus press, it presses all the pulp into a mashed mass in the bottom of your fruit half. It will not get all the juice out. I tried a dozen lemons on it and was able to take the pressed lemon half and using a bowl reamer get half again as much juice out of the lemon. This is a terrible product, the old-fashioned way is best even if it hurts your hand (bowl reamer). This will not save you any time and will waste 1/3 of your fruit (unless you process the fruit thru a reamer too!). Of course, I lost the $14 I paid for shipping/handling (plus more to ship it back) even after all the research I did. I hope someone learns from this.
