Thanks to its hardy bamboo materials, this rice paddle from Helen's Asian Kitchen is durable, lightweight, and resistant to moisture. Shaped with a wide shallow bowl, the piece scoops rice without mashing it and doubles as a spreader when making maki-zushi. Gentle on cookware, the paddle does not scratch nonstick or porcelain rice cookers and cleans up by hand or in the dishwasher. Inexpensive and Great Quality September 25, 2008

In the end it's just a rice paddle. But this is a very inexpensive one that is great quality. Bamboo seems to last forever and this one has a nice look and feel to it. Better than I expected compared to some other really cheap ones I've bought before in the supermarket.

The existing picture is a bit misleading. The one I got has a small engraving in it's end (I think "Helen's Kitchen" but it's very stylized and kind of small, so the second word is almost illegible). And mine is a bit of a darker tan color as compared to the almost light yellowish-white look of the picture. It also has a hole in the end of it if you want to hang it somewhere, I guess.

I think I like what I got better than the picture led me to believe what I had purchased.

This paddle is OK, didn't really need it; the rice steamer I bought came with a paddle so now I have two.
