Amazon.com Review
Touted as the world's fastest cork remover on the QVC Shopping Network, the Insta-Pull is also the cheapest of the lever-style wine openers. However, the low price doesn't reflect the high quality of this corkscrew: The Insta-pull has all-metal gears and an ergonomically designed non-slip polycarbon handle and received an "Excellent" rating by a top consumer magazine. To use the Insta-pull, crank the lever back to set the gear. Next, place the cork remover over your wine bottle and crank the lever up and down a few times to insert the screw or "worm" into the cork. The last step requires you to simply flip the handle up and back to remove your cork. Another crank of the lever while holding the grips together resets the gears and a final upward pull releases the cork from the Insta-pull. This cork remover is an excellent buy for wine lovers who desire a quality engineered product at a low price. The Insta-pull comes with a bonus foil cutter and additional worm and is covered by a limited 90-day warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic Cork Screw   September 10, 2008
I absolutely love this cork screw. It's very easy to use; after my 3rd time, I didn't have to read instructions. Anyway, would recommend to any wine lover.

The 2nd time I used this item the springs popped out and it was thrown away. Since then I have purchased 2 different ones and the same has happened.

1 out of 5 stars Fatal Problems, Indeed!   February 4, 2006

After using an opener of the same design, and buying a similar one for a gift, I decided to try the Insta-Pull brand. I wish I hadn't. The 90 day warranty is not long enough. I used it with some regularity for almost 120 days. The main lever broke off the gear while pulling out a cork. Also, the included foil cutter doesn't cut foil. The one I bought as a gift is from Bed, Bath & Beyond, costs $9.99, comes with extras (including a handy stand), and has lasted a couple of years so far. So I bought myself one of those. There's more metal and the foil cutter actually works.

4 out of 5 stars No complaints!   December 27, 2005
This wine opener has functioned quite well for us for about three years, no complaints. It has a foil remover and very smoothly & easily opens a bottle of wine with no trouble at all. Great bargain.

I like this type of opener very much, and wanted to replace another similar model that had lasted a year before failing. So I opened the package, and tried to open a bottle of wine, but the corkscrew would not lock. I'm not even sure I'll send it back given the warranty hassle, shipping costs, etc, given the price. I just can't recommend this brand to anyone.
