True to its name, the Holmes Blizzard fan can kick up quite a windstorm, though its lower settings are so effective you may never need to use it to full capacity. Designed for desktop or wall-mounted use, the fan features four speeds and optional oscillation. Its deep design and efficient blade create a focused shot of air, and the entire head can be tilted to where it is most needed. The Blizzard is easily controlled by the switches on its base and back and includes a remote control for across-the-room convenience. The remote does not control oscillation, however--that requires hands-on action. Approximately 14 inches high and 10 by 10 inches at the base, the fan comes ready to plug in and carries a three-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

The blizzard is really great for anyone looking for relief on a hot summer day. I especially enjoy the convienence of the remote control.

This fan can be turned on to one of four speeds from across the room with the remote control.
The fan can rotate from side to side or stay stationary but this must be set by hand on the back of the fan.
No problems!

I ORDERED THIS FAN 3 YEARS AGO FROM AMAZON. I LOVED IT SO WHEN IT BROKE I ORDERED ANOTHER ONE. THIS TIME IT WAS SOLD BY POLSTEINS HOME & BEYOND. WHAT I RECEIVED WAS A USED BROKEN FAN AND NOT THE ONE I ORDERED. IT WAS JUST THROWN IN THE BOX LIKE A PIECE OF GARBAGE. AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO HOME AND BEYOND, THEY FINALLY SENT ME A RETURN LABEL AND I WAS REFUNDED THE FULL AMOUNT. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THAT COMPANY AGAIN. I ORDERED THE FAN DIRECTLY FROM HOLMES, WHICH ARRIVED BRAND NEW IN THE BOX, WHICH IS WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I AM SURPRISED THAT AMAZON DOESN'T CHECK OUT THE COMPANIES THAT THEY ARE REPRESENTING MORE CAREFULLY.
