Product Description
If you think true personal change is easier said than done, you must read God's Heartbeat! The author, a career Naval Officer with an MBA from the Navy Postgraduate School, in Monterey, California, draws upon real-life experiences in war-torn Iraq, as well as leadership skills gained from a twenty-year career working and living aboard ships, submarines, and air stations. Focused on achieving true personal change, God's Heartbeat provides a new academic model of life leadership, and demonstrates how your own view of the world can sometimes prevent you from seeing the world as it really is. Filled with inspiring examples and a straightforward interpretation of the expectations laid out in the Holy Bible, God's Heartbeat offers simple tools to achieve Divine intervention and miraculous change. God's Heartbeat opens your eyes and heart to easily understood instructions from God. This witty narrative of inspiring allegories provides clever answers to often-asked questions about life, death, and how the two are interrelated. God's Heartbeat helps us to see that our days are filled with thousands of choices, yet we often pay too much attention to the frivolous choices and not enough attention to the greatest choice of all: Do you absolutely, truly believe in God? Who does your heart beat for? God's Heartbeat confirms that life here on earth is actually quite simple... if you really and truly believe in God. Ultimately based on the powerful Book of Proverbs, God's Heartbeat is Your Instruction Book for Life. If you follow the simple instructions in God's Heartbeat, you will always be on the right path. You will always choose the correct course. And you will never wonder, wander, or worry. You won't wonder if your path is leading you astray. You won't wander into the realm of the unprotected. And you will never worry about the complexities of life. John H. Clark's journey of discovery led him to a profound Truth about our lives here on earth and God's spiritual instructions for us all. If you think true personal change is easier said than done, you must read God's Heartbeat!

5 out of 5 stars You Definitely Have My Attention   November 1, 2008
Brilliant and excellent, excellent and brilliant! This book is a must read! I could have read 200 additional pages dedicated to the elevator of life, alone! I found the book to be as honest as it was sincere. If anywhere in the world there exists an intersection: John Maxwell Lane and Fred Price Jr. Blvd - God's Heartbeat would be its closest cross street! If you have not yet drafted, edited (re-edited), and finalized your personal constitution - you will be anxious to put pen to paper the minute you finish the book.

I hope to see more from this author.

5 out of 5 stars THIS is a good book. I think Oprah needs to jump on this one.   October 10, 2008

People today tend to be negative, and quick to blame other people and/or situations for their problems. Once you read this book you will stop being that type of person. Reading this book makes you more aware of your thoughts and actions. You will actually find yourself stopping the negative words before they leave your mouth! God's Heartbeat forces you to consider (and ultimately accept) a better way of living. The author provides interesting personal stories, discusses the power of choice, gives readers a new leadership model, and presents the Book of Proverbs as God's instructions for how we should be living. There is a lot of information, but the writing style is entertaining and keeps you interested. This is an inspiring, educating, and thought provoking book! Bottom line - God's Heartbeat provides a premise for living a Christian life. If you are Christian, this book will give you powerful talking points to support being a Christian. If you are not a Christian, this book gives you powerful reasons to reconsider your spirituality. The title alone (God's Heartbeat) says it all. I have to provide this quote from the book because I think it is so awesome and profound: "..my heart beats not because of any iota of my own doing. My heart beats not because I want it to; my heart beats because God wants it to beat. Thus, it is not my heart beat. It truly is God's Heartbeat." Now, is that powerful or what?! I strongly recommend you read this book. The author opens the book by writing about his experience in Iraq. His writing style is truly captivating; I could hear and visualize the scenes as I read them. And because the author is a Naval Officer, he writes about his various experiences in the Navy - which are all very interesting. One final comment: Oprah's Book Club recommended "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. I TRIED to read it and I DID NOT like it at all. God's Heartbeat is a much better book for learning (awakening) to your life's purpose.

Wow! This is a great book. At first I thought it was all about christian stuff (it does have a few christian elements), but the integrated details on Iraq and life on a submarine are fascinating. I found the author's discussion on Capital T Truth to be especially relevant in this day and age. I would give this book TEN stars if I could... mostly because the message is very to the point and truthful, yet he doen't beat you over the head with the truth. And still, I feel like I know this guy. His writing style makes it seems like we are having a conversation right in my living room. Definitely a keeper kinda book.
