    YOU NEED THIS FOR INDIRECT COOKING! I had a grill by Kingsford, with hinged cooking grate, It was wonderful because of the easy access. I gave the grill away after 10 year of awsome use, and was sorry when I could not find another product even close to it! They no longer offer this product. Sold as Patio Classic 3500 Series Charcoal Grill, I can no longer find in stock anywhere. So, this is the second best answer to my search. Price is right too!

    I am very please with the hinged cooking grate. I am surprise that someone did not think of this earlier. It makes it so easy to add charcoal. I do not have to use potholders or find space to place the cooking grate while I am adding coal.

    I used to use the traditional grill grate that came with my Weber. But last summer I found this and never looked back. I especially like the way you can fold up each end and add more coals, without taking the entire grate out. I highly recommend. I keep my Weber outdoors all spring/summer/fall and the grates withstand our MD weather. I keep my grate clean with a "brillo" pad and some "simple green" grate cleaner from BBQ Galore.
