Very Useful! Needs more sanding. June 26, 2008
I have only had this spoon for a few weeks, but I've found it more useful even than expected. My only complaint is that the bowl of the spoon was not well sanded. (I sanded it lightly myself.) I purchased the spatula and a solid spoon at the same time and both of those utensils were very well sanded, so since I'm seeing other reviewers noting differences in wear and quality, I'm thinking that the quality checking needs to be addressed. I have not noticed any cracking of the spoons, but then I have not used them to the extent as other reviewers. I did oil all three utensils immediately after receiving them. Maybe this is important to do, especially if using in boiling water (which would tend to dry the wood out) or any other liquid which would not have any fat to feed the wood naturally. Solid and has a good feel to it. My favorite of the three.

Great Wood Slotted Spoon July 12, 2007
I bought the whole wood collection. They are gorgeous !!! Strong wood piece very well crafted. Stronglly reccomend this product. Also works great with my stainless steel pans. Let's wait and see how long does it last. . .

High quality & well made May 6, 2007
I purchased this slotted spoon and am extremely happy with it. Well made from quality wood and well sanded. For those of us who love wooden spoons, these are first class. Heavy weigh and large. I would highly recommend this item to others.

Love Mario's Stuff, but not this September 15, 2006

This spoon is definatley note the same quality as his other spoons and utensiles. The slots cut in the spoon are left with wood shavings in them and the slots are not rounded. I hesitate using this spoon with the shavings in the slots and will likey send them back or throw them out. I do however LOVE his spatchula and his non-sloted wooden spoons and risoto scrapper thingy. The handle is great even for me with my big hands.
