5 out of 5 stars Beyond expectations   September 1, 2008
This product met all my expectations and more. Holds a good deal, filter assists to eliminate odor, eye pleasing and easy to clean. Would buy the same thing again without hesitation. It was the perfect gift for my avid composting fiance.

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   August 26, 2008
This composter is great. We used to use the cheap plastic one provided by our garbage company and it smelled terrible within 1 day. We now have no more "stink from the can." It holds tons of food scraps, and we only have to empty it every 2nd or 3rd day. We did get some mold growing on the inside of the lid, so just watch for that.

4 out of 5 stars Simple composting   August 14, 2008
Other than the inevitable fingerprints on stainless steel, this product does the job well. The top is very secure so it's hard to lift up with one hand, which is a drawback in my opinion.

5 out of 5 stars Great Choice   August 8, 2008
This compost bucket for the kitchen is great. I have not had an issue with bugs (unlike my outdoor composter). The filter only needs to be changed every six months so it is not a big life long expense. In my opinion you really don't need to use the little biodegradable bags. The directions say to line it with a paper towel or newspaper. I did that the first few times. Now I just throw stuff in. After I empty it, I give it a rinse (which I did when I was lining it with paper anyway) and it is fine.

Another reviewer made the comment about her ceramic composter breaking. I would definitely say that is likely. When I am emptying mine I have to set it down outside on a stone path to stir my compost bin. I can see just one time of setting it down too hard and it breaking. Go with the stainless. Will last a lifetime!

4 out of 5 stars Back to Nature   July 30, 2008
We've been using this keeper for several months and are delighted with it. It's a little pricey but we like it. It works perfectly for our 2 person household. Mark it down $20 and get a 5 star rating for value.
