Amazon.com Product Description
This handsome, well-made chaise is tailor-made for soaking up the sun or relaxing by the pool. A unique tray table extends to hold drinks, magazines, and other lounging essentials, then slides back underneath for storage. The back adjusts to five positions--from fully-upright to completely-reclined. Matching cushions can also be purchased to add even more comfort.

The bench's slotted surface allows rain to flow through, rather than collect and damage the wood. The piece is made from kapur wood, a high-density Southeast Asian hardwood with excellent weather-resistant properties. Light enough to move easily around deck or lawn, kapur requires no finishing and is exceptionally-sturdy--with enough oil to repel the ravages of rain, sun, and dew. Rust-resistant hardware and mortise and tenon construction also add to the piece's strength and durability.

Before shipment, your new furniture received a generous application of teak oil. Teak oil provides protection from the ultraviolet sunrays. Left untreated, Kapur will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. If you prefer to prevent this weathering process, you may apply additional coats of teak oil. The frequency of necessary teak oil applications will depend on the intensity of the sun in your environment, but typically, one or two coats per year is sufficient. Teak oil can usually be found at a marine dealer, hardware store, or internet dealer. If you allow your furniture to weather, you may later decide that you would want to restore it to its original condition. This is possible by using teak cleaner products, also available at most marine dealers and internet dealers. After following the instructions for cleaning, you will want to apply a coat of teak oil to prevent the weathering process.

The lounge's preassembled components fit together easily with the help of an included allen wrench. This item measures 74 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 12-1/2 inches tall. --Mary Park

4 out of 5 stars Great product, great price   June 16, 2008
I was pleasantly surprised that the chaise lounges we bought for around $100 were very solid, very well-made, and quite nice-looking. Be aware, these are very heavy chairs made of solid teak-like material, not flimsy cheap knock-offs. It took a little time to assemble the lounges, but they went together very well and seem like they will stay together well. Even the wheels are quality made where they could have been compromised. Designed to move effortless around the yard, with nice handles and large wheels. Our only regret, and it is a minor one, is that the back could have come more upright than it does... definitely a lounger. Nice pull-out tables, though.

1 out of 5 stars Looks Good, But Not Built Well   May 31, 2008
I ordered 2 of these and both arrived broken. While they looked good, the quality was less than good. I would not recommend. Also they did stain my laini

4 out of 5 stars Great "Beginners Chaise"   May 31, 2008
I say beginners chaise becuase it is not as wide and long as most chaises but i knew that when I purchased. Overall, it is very sturdy, came shipped quickly and was very easy to put together. I read about how others had their loungers drip some kind of stain. I bought mine thinking I would put them out in the rain, let them drip and them paint them to seal. I did just that, and they never dripped any stain. I did notice that the loungers appeared dry in spots and if not painted would need oiled...after only one rain, I thought that was a bit too soon to need maintenance; however, I painted mine to match my other outdoor furniture and they look outstanding!

3 out of 5 stars Construction problem   May 29, 2008
Strathwood Chaise Lounge The chaise was not assembled correctly at the factory. We could not select a fairly upright position. The most upright angle of the back was about 135 to the seat, not comfortable for reading. Rather than return it, my husband constructed an additional piece and made the necessary adjustments. There didn't seem to be a problem with the stain leaking on to a wood deck.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good for what you pay for   May 22, 2008
Very sturdy, and beautiful; one slat had to be redrilled/rescrewed on one unit (we bought 2), bu overall, very satisfactory.

Regarding the design, *definitely* needs thick pads that include a head pillow - too flat and hard to be comfortable otherwise.
