Beware of Counterfeits being sold ...NOT BY Amazon , 29 Nov 2007
I Wrote this on Amazon.co.uk about Series 5-6 , but it applies to all the series sold on Ebay , by many of the Sellers .


To all that love this great comedy as I do . This DVD is not available and information on this site states that it may not be available again . I want to warn all who may look for this and other series of Last Of The Summer Wine and find it on EBAY that there are many Sellers who have this , but most are counterfeit . The copies are of such poor quality that you can hardly read any of the small print on the packaging and the picture is very blurry and faded . It is obvious that these have been copied and put on the dvd cases and that the dvds themselves are not from Universal Pictures UK Lmt. I live in the USA and purchase my beloved British TV comedies in Region 2 . I purchased a player which would play Region 2 because I am such a fan . I do not wish any of my fellow LOTSW fans to be cheated .

This item is for use in Europe, not the US. Amazon should not be selling this to American customers, as it won't work on your DVD.

These series continue the escapades of the geriatric trio, Campo, Foggy, and Norman and begins to introduce more guest stars and recurring characters. Personally, I find that this series gets better as it moves forward with the addition of more players. These two are much better than the first two, and Series 5 and 6, which have just become available, are even better than Series 4 and 5. I just wish that they would speed up the introduction of the series. And, why, oh why, don't we have these in the U. S. in an NTSC version?

$78? For only one set of LOSW dvds? Don't pay such a ridiculous markup!

Forget that-- if you're set with your region-free dvd player, just check out LOSW (and many other unavailable-in-US UK programs) on the UK Amazon site-- I've purchased both available dvd sets (Seasons 1 & 2; Seasons 3 & 4) for under $40US, including shipping!

One star is for the price here, but four stars for the series itself!!
