Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Imagine a meal created by your favorite public televsion chefs. Savory appetizers by Martin Yan. An elegant entree by Jacques Pepin. A scrumptious dessert by Nathalie Dupre. And your hostess? Julia Child.

Such a feast does exist. AN AMERICAN FEAST is the compnion cookbook to the three-hour live public television special in which five of the country's most popular chefs create one of the greatest progressive dinners of all time with 100 recipes from over 35 public television chefs.

This lavishly illustrated celebration of cooking on public television includes recipes for all of the dishes prepared on the show, as well as dozens of others. AN AMERICAN FEAST is organized by course, with dishes including Lidia Matticchio Bastianich's "Risotto with Wild Mushrooms and Truffles," Paul Prudhomme's "Sesame Crusted Fish," Rick Stein's "Mussels with Tomato, Celery and Saffron Butter," the Two Fat Ladies' "Lobster with Latkas," and Graham Kerr's "Curried Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, and Bananas Wakaya."

AN AMERICAN FEAST is a historic meeting of chefs, a delight for the taste buds, and a must-have for the kitchen.

I was really amazed at how many different types of recipes were in this book. It has everything from Southern dishes to Chinese dishes. It had many new ideas for the adventureous cook. If you love to cook or eat, this is the book for you. The instructions are simple and the ingredients are easy to find. The tips you learn in this book, are invaluable to creating the perfect meal. Regardless of the amount of time you have to prepare a meal, you can find what you need in this book. I own a lot of cook books, and 'An American Feast' is by far the most versatile and flavor rich. Don't miss out on this one.
