Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The clearest, most complete, most affordable, and most enjoyable pocket guide to every wine style in the world.

"For an omnibus guide to wine, the competition in the portable reference category comes down to Clarke and Hugh Johnson. Clarke wins on style and ease of use."-Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator

Known to millions for his phenomenal palate, irreverent style, accurate predictions, and enthusiasm for wine in particular and life in general, Oz Clarke is one of the world's most popular and respected wine writers. His books, including Oz Clarke's Essential Wine Book and New Classic Wines, have won Julia Child, James Beard, Glenfiddich, Andre Simon, and Wine Guild awards. He is also the author of the recently published Clarke & Spurrier's Fine Wine Guide.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Best guide of it's type   February 11, 1999

If you are going to bring one small guide to a wine shop, this is the one that is the most helpful. Well laid out, with tons of info in a small package. The Johnson guide is good, but this is superior due to ease of use.

5 out of 5 stars A very informative and easy to use book.   December 23, 1998

This guide is more informative and easier to use than Hugh Johnsons
