4 out of 5 stars Great but Annoying   November 17, 2008
This is a great product, providing accurate indoor and outdoor temperature. The remote outdoor unit has a longer range than a competitor's model I previously owned. The size of the readouts is perfect for me. However, it has a freeze alarm. High in the Colorado Rockies, the temperature can often go through 32 degrees several times a day, as the weather changes. This is very annoying because, while the alarm can be silenced each temperature excursion, it cannot be permanently turned off and is a feature that I do not need.

3 out of 5 stars Unit works great, remote sensor fails   November 13, 2008
I bought this on sale at Amazon so I am not complaining because it was a good deal. The problem though, is a major one. My remote sensor died after a few weeks of use. Even with new batteries, the unit won't pair with the base unit. A new remote unit costs $16-20 which is almost the cost of the product and twice as much as I paid for.

4 out of 5 stars Great gadget, low price.   October 6, 2008
Exactly what I was looking for !!! Small, big numbers, up to three external sensors, and easy setup. And a very low price.

4 out of 5 stars Tiny screws but a great deal - works perfect!   October 1, 2008

I read the reviews before buying this, but since I live in an area where freezing isn't that much of an issue (unless my ex is in the room) I decided that the price was a bargain.

First off you *CAN* use rechargeable batteries, just use the "pre-charged" low discharge NiMH AAA batteries. They still have the same freezing issues that standard NiMH have but the other eight months of the year you won't have to use the pricey batteries. (not that any of this has to do with this thermometer specifically)

Secondly, the screws on the back of the outdoor/radio unit are very small, and I'm not exactly sure why they felt the need to go that route but most any eyeglass repair kit that contains a Phillips head screwdriver should make short work of them.

Other than that, if you follow the very simple, well illustrated instruction, you should have no problems.

The range to the outdoor radio is listed at 100' if that matters.
(your mileage may vary)

1 out of 5 stars impossibly screwy   September 26, 2008
is there a screw driver made which fits these screws on the sensor. by the time you get the cover off, you have stripped the screws, never to be used again. i guess i will use scotch tape from now on! forget this product and this manufacturer!!!
